About the role

  • Strategic account position responsible for growth within the assigned Pacific Northwest territory for Johnson Controls - Fire Suppression Products.
  • Develop relationships and have credibility throughout the entire customer base, including contractor customers and supply chain partners.
  • Oversee customer relationships for sales growth, profitability, customer service, issue resolution, new product introduction, and industry involvement.
  • Report to the Regional Sales Manager and work closely with peers and channel partners.
  • Achieve yearly revenue targets and goals; effectively call on the local contractor community.
  • Develop account plans for key and target customers aligned with company channel strategy; monitor and manage price strategy.
  • Report business forecasts and participate in team calls both internally and with channel partners.
  • Ensure new products are introduced effectively and in a timely manner; coordinate customer training and enter/manage sales activities and territory pipeline within Salesforce.com.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the construction, fire protection (preferred), or related industry.
  • High energy, self-starter with the ability to represent the company with the utmost professionalism.
  • Political savvy across the customer organization and company.
  • Effective, strong communication with West Regional Sales Manager & internal and external business partners.
  • Strong business acumen & ability to adapt to customer needs.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written including proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Willingness to travel 75% within assigned territory.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Power BI; Plumbing/HVAC experience.
