About the role
- Represent the Johns Hopkins Institutions to internal and external stakeholders
- Attend community organization meetings and participate in community events as a Johns Hopkins representative
- Provide summaries of community meetings within 48 hours to supervisor
- Attend 1-2 community meetings/events per week
- Build and strengthen relationships with community and faith-based organizations
- Partner with community-based organizations serving targeted community in alignment with Johns Hopkins University and Health System Outreach
- Coordinate with Government Affairs and other colleagues on resources and solutions
- Ensure inclusion of community organizations in university and health system community grant/sponsorship opportunities
- Coordinate with Communications and Government Affairs on outreach
- Read and summarize planning documents; submit stories to internal publications; publish brochures with GCE; promote local engagement
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; Seven years of related experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree; Three years related experience in community engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business in Health Administration, Project Management or related field
- Seven years of related experience
- Additional education may substitute for required experience; equivalencies per JHU policy
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum three years related experience in community engagement
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management
- Demonstrated experience in event planning and management
- Demonstrated experience in managing community programs and projects
- Demonstrated experience working with the participant population
