About the role

  • Learn JE Dunn processes and tools while assisting with the preparation of cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals
  • Experience many facets of the construction and estimating process
  • Make decisions on routine matters and provide recommendations to supervisor
  • Perform quantity survey of materials shown on project plans
  • Read and outline project specifications
  • Maintain an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate
  • Support vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination
  • Support the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors
  • Work collaboratively and create relationships with project team members, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
  • Gain self-perform estimating experience
  • Gain field operational exposure through onsite project support, as opportunities exist

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
  • Entry level construction experience
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software
  • Proficiency in required construction technology
  • Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management
  • Ability to learn quantity surveys
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
  • Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
