About the role
- Assist with collecting seed for trials, trial planting, digs
- Support seed sizing and planter evaluation activities
- Assist with North Dakota trial planting and harvesting
- Assist with weekly, pre-harvest, harvest, and storage collections
- Assist with installation, calibration, monitoring, and removal of soil moisture probes
- Complete stem and plant stand assessments
- Computer data collection and entry
- Transport totes to farms, support filling, and ensure proper labelling of totes
- Assists with projects/special assignments as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a college/university, pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Food Science, Business, or Engineering
- Strong academic record (suggested minimum 3.0 GPA)
- Senior or recent graduate highly preferred
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Candidate must have average or above skills in Excel, data analysis, and Word
- Self-motivated, independent worker that can function under limited supervision
- Must have a positive attitude and possess good inter-personal skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
- Valid Canadian passport required
