About the role
- Perform routine reconciliation tasks, including asset checks, clearing account reviews and comparison of lease system outputs to ledger data.
- Investigate and resolve basic data discrepancies in collaboration with country finance teams, GBS and the wider Lease Accounting team.
- Prepare all necessary journals to support period end and corrective activities.
- Prepare supporting information for budgeting and forecasting by validating lease‑related data inputs and highlighting anomalies for review.
- Assist in preparing operational lease reporting and ensure consistency of underlying data prior to review by the Management Accountant.
- Contribute to IFRS 16 reporting support by providing validated schedules, variance notes and other reconciliation evidence.
- Assist with asset reconciliation and depreciation checks to ensure correct classification and treatment in line with established controls.
- Maintain clear and complete audit trails for all reconciliations, validations and analysis activities, ensuring documentation is accurate and accessible.
- Support audit collaboration by assembling supporting materials, responding to straightforward queries and ensuring timely delivery of evidence.
- Assist in identifying process or data‑quality issues and provide input into improvement initiatives led by the Group Lease Management Accountant, Group Lease Accountant.
- Liaise with country finance teams to request missing information, resolve straightforward queries and ensure alignment of data across systems.
Requirements
- Studying towards an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to work accurately with large datasets.
- Good Excel skills, including data validation, lookups and basic pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering reliable outputs.
- Effective communication and willingness to engage with stakeholders across countries and functions.
- Ability to follow established processes while also identifying inconsistencies or gaps when they arise.
- Exposure to reconciliations or financial control processes.
- Experience with lease accounting tools (e.g., BDO Lead) and/or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, SAP) is a strong advantage.
- Experience working in a multisite, multicurrency or geographically dispersed organisation.
- Familiarity with IFRS 16 or leasing environments.
- Experience working in shared‑service or multi‑entity financial environments.
