About the role

  • Strategic & Organizational Leadership Define the company’s long-term technology and security strategy in alignment with product and business goals.
  • Lead and manage the Software Development Manager, providing coaching, guidance, and career development.
  • Drive hiring for senior technical roles, including the Software Architect and other high-impact positions.
  • Represent technology in executive-level discussions and strategic planning sessions.
  • Process & Standards Define and enforce the organization’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) , Agile standards, and DevOps maturity model.
  • Establish quality, security, and compliance benchmarks for the engineering organization.
  • Approve and oversee high-level architecture direction in partnership with the Tech Lead and Software Architect.
  • Security & Compliance Own the organization’s security posture, including compliance with frameworks such as FedRAMP, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
  • Ensure secure design principles are embedded in architecture, development, and operations.
  • Partner with external auditors, consultants, and internal leaders to achieve and maintain certifications.
  • Culture & Continuous Improvement Foster a culture of ownership, trust, and continuous learning across the technology organization. Anticipate technical and organizational risks, communicating them transparently with proposed solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in technology leadership roles, including experience managing managers.
  • Proven success scaling engineering teams and implementing security/compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience implementing SDLC processes and DevOps practices at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of modern cloud technologies, CI/CD tools, and security principles.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
  • Prior experience transitioning from project-based to product-centric development environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, FedRAMP, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for coaching teams and building healthy, sustainable engineering organizations.
