About the role
- Lead preparation, review, and analysis of accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Oversee general ledger maintenance and reconciliation processes, resolving complex accounting issues
- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities and coordinate across departments
- Oversee preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
- Ensure proper accounting of inventory and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close related to inventory
- Coordinate and support cycle counts and full physical inventory counts
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to strengthen financial governance and compliance
- Serve as primary liaison with internal and external auditors; prepare audit materials and lead corrective action plans
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff
- Lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes through automation and system enhancements
- Collaborate with finance leadership and cross-functional teams and participate in strategic projects
- Manage and maintain accounting systems and lead upgrades, integrations, and system enhancements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Accounting
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Accounting
- CPA or progress toward CPA (bonus)
- Strong track record of leading month-end and year-end closing processes
- Skilled in managing general ledger activities and complex reconciliations
- Experienced in coordinating audits and maintaining internal controls and regulatory compliance
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing junior accounting staff
- Experience with inventory accounting and cycle counts
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements and system upgrades
- Experience managing and maintaining accounting systems, upgrades, integrations, and system enhancements
- Onsite in Columbus, OH (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
