About the role
- A hands on field-based role to repair our parcel lockers on client’s sites
- Break-fix, maintenance, software configuration, quality control, and providing technical support and training to employees and subcontractors
- Diagnosing and repairing faults and malfunctions of parcel locker machines (APMs) on site
- Maintenance and modernisation of parcel locker machines
- Implementing hardware and software upgrades to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Diagnostics, reconfiguration, and installation of computer software or firmware for computer, electronic, and electromechanical equipment
- Processing and reporting on assigned repairs using communication channels utilised within the organisation
- Managing tools and components for parcel locker machines
- Handling systems for managing personnel-related matters
- Quality control of work performed by internal employees and subcontractors
- Providing technical and substantive support to employees and subcontractors (including international ones)
- Participating in the development of solutions for new types of parcel locker machines
- Preparing and updating technical manuals and documentation
Requirements
- Similar experience in a Field service technical engineering role on electrical/mechanical equipment
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and diagnostic tools (multi-meter)
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, with experience in software configuration and firmware updates
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide technical training
- Ability to manage tasks efficiently, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines across multiple markets
- High accuracy in quality control and documentation updates
- Experience working with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal staff
- Flexibility to travel for service and training activities both in the UK and occasionally internationally
- Familiarity with parcel locker or similar systems, electromechanical devices, and organisational IT tools
- Effective time management and the ability to handle tools and components responsibly
