About the role

  • Primary Focus: Solution Design — develop a detailed solution design that includes all necessary components and recommended IBM products and services
  • Collaborate with sales, partners, and end-clients to gather and analyze customer requirements, including security, budgetary constraints, and time-to-implement
  • Identify and evaluate solution options that meet customer requirements
  • Develop detailed solution designs and present them to partners; be a resource for partners to present to end-users when necessary
  • KPIs: number of designs built; number of customer engagements (consult, training)
  • SLAs: accuracy of designs; percent of on-time delivery and response; percent of customer satisfaction
  • May enable TSS associates to grow technology sales while maintaining vendor relations to drive focused results

Requirements

  • Formal college education or 3-5 years' experience with technology products preferred
  • Foundational understanding of technical information
  • Effective communication with multiple levels of customers
  • Ability to follow direction and take initiative as required
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and take constructive criticism as an opportunity to improve
  • Ability to drive results as an individual contributor and assist others to achieve results
  • General proficiency with various tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job
  • May need to consult with Senior/Specialist staff members on some technical issues
  • A four-year college degree (or additional experience in a related field) and 3 years IBM experience including a minimum 1-year position specific experience
  • Must be prepared to pass a drug test and a pre-employment (post offer) background check
