About the role

  • Grow the Status movement: users, followers, contributors, and supporters
  • Run Status social channels (X, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Farcaster): posting, listening, engaging
  • Share real content — memes, videos, threads, deep dives; celebrate ecosystem wins and amplify builders
  • Bring crypto Twitter and meme culture into comms; create and remix images, GIFs, and short videos
  • Social listening, trend spotting, and reporting; monitor channels and spot timely narratives
  • Propose and execute ad-hoc posts, reactive campaigns, and track social sentiment
  • Work with Program Lead on social media strategy aligned to product roadmap
  • Plan and execute release comms, event campaigns, partner collaborations, and blog promotion
  • Manage in-app Status news feeds and collaborate with Community Manager to drive conversations
  • Own channels with a human, rebellious, grounded voice centered on privacy, freedom, and open source

Requirements

  • Experience working in start-ups and comfortable with fast pace and adaptability
  • Experience in web3, crypto, or privacy spaces as an active participant (open source contributions, dev community activity, small projects)
  • Familiarity with social platforms, especially Reddit and long-form X threads
  • Write like you talk — clear, passionate, without buzzwords
  • Ability to create or edit images/videos at an authentic “good enough” level
  • Organized but flexible — can plan a content calendar and react to urgent items
  • Comfortable working asynchronously, remotely, and without constant oversight
  • Curious about tech, privacy, and decentralization
  • Belief in open source as a way of building together
  • Located in the European time zone or close to it
  • Bonus: experience contributing to open source projects
