About the role
- Collaborate with customer cross-functional teams to design, configure and validate drug libraries associated with smart infusion pumps with DERS, ensuring optimal functionality and alignment with clinical workflows.
- Oversee end-to-end drug library development for smart infusion pump implementations.
- Collaborate with customer pharmacy leadership to standardize medication concentrations, dosing limits, and infusion parameters aligned with institutional policies and evidence-based practice.
- Co-lead multidisciplinary drug library review sessions.
- Recommend drug library governance model development and long-term maintenance strategies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Nursing, Project Management, IT, and operational stakeholders, to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to timelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, addressing challenges, and providing expert guidance to achieve client satisfaction and project goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations on medication safety practices and infusion pump programming to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- Lead advanced training sessions for pharmacy and clinical staff, ensuring effective adoption and utilization of the safety software and infusion pumps.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex clinical issues during implementations, leveraging expertise to minimize disruptions.
- Identify opportunities to refine implementation processes and tools, contributing to the development of best practices for the organization.
- Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting project status, risks, and resolutions.
- Aptitude to evaluate professional literature and understand the application of statistics.
- Possess strong communication, organizational, critical thinking and collaborative skills. They must be self-learners and possess the ability to teach others.
- Understand healthcare trends and healthcare improvement initiatives and articulate the role that ICU Medical solutions play within those initiatives.
- Ability to effectively present to groups of clinicians and possess the professional acumen to interact effectively with senior hospital clinical leadership.
- Collaborate with R&D and Upstream Marketing teams as implementation subject matter expert during the new product development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required; advanced certifications in medication safety or informatics preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmacy operations, with at least 2 years in a consulting or implementation role involving infusion pumps and safety software.
- Must have an active Pharmacy license in at least one state in the U.S.
- Hospital pharmacy management/clinical supervisory position or clinical consulting desired
- Acute care hospital and/or clinical experience preferred. Experience in the field of pharmacy informatics is highly desirable.
