About the role
- Support the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and operations—both domestic and international as part of ICF’s corporate Health, Safety, and Security team supporting ~9,000 employees globally
- Monitor global security trends and conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysis to support proactive threat response, situational awareness, and risk mitigation
- Provide centralized monitoring of critical events (e.g., natural disasters, civil unrest), ensuring rapid outreach to impacted personnel and stakeholders
- Monitor and assess physical security risks across U.S. and international office locations and client sites; support implementation and maintenance of access control, surveillance, and alarm systems
- Investigate security incidents, workplace threats, and policy violations; track and report on incident trends and mitigation efforts
- Assist in developing and enforcing security policies, procedures, and emergency protocols; maintain security documentation, incident logs, and compliance records
- Conduct travel risk assessments and evaluate flight patterns, hotel locations, and transportation options to support staff safety during cross-border operations
- Provide security briefings and awareness training to staff, develop and maintain resources to support awareness, compliance, and effective use of tools and processes
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and business continuity efforts; develop and conduct scenario-based drills
- Utilize mass communication systems to disseminate urgent messages and coordinate with internal stakeholders, building management, law enforcement, and emergency services
- Monitor and track operations and employee locations in real time
- Recommend upgrades to surveillance, communication, and incident response systems and enhance system analytics to improve response times and operational efficiency
- Foster relationships with third-party security providers, law enforcement, and emergency services and coordinate cross-functionally with corporate functions, senior management, and operational teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Criminal Justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, or a related field
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a corporate security, security intelligence, or duty of care role, OR a high school diploma and 4+ years of experience
- Understanding of international travel risk, geopolitical threats, and duty-of-care principles
- Proven expertise in threat intelligence analysis (preferred: at least 5+ years of experience)
- Former military, law enforcement, or related government agency experience (preferred)
- Experience with corporate travel security or duty of care support (preferred)
- International operational experience (preferred)
- Industry certifications preferred (e.g., ASIS PSP, CPP, FEMA ICS, or similar)
- Experience with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, CoPilot, etc.)
- Strong judgment, discretion, and experience managing sensitive information
