About the role

  • The Assistant Manager, Pricing Analytics for Hyundai manages and implements current model year pricing and facilitates in the execution of operational pricing activities for the Hyundai Sonata and Kona portfolio and support department as needed.
  • Create price positioning and launch pricing proposals for new model year support documents customized specifically to each model’s unique market circumstances.
  • Manage obtaining executive approval on pricing proposals and working with HMA Finance and Sales Distribution to meet vehicle wholesale targets.
  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding pricing strategies and competitive landscape for the mainstream new vehicle market.
  • Be a key driver for innovation to advance Hyundai pricing to optimize work efficiency and enhance analytical capability.
  • Create vehicle pricing forecasts for development of annual budget and track budgeted per vehicle gross profitability against actual performance to ensure each assigned model is achieving calendar year target.
  • Collaborate with Hyundai Global Headquarters, North American Product Planning and Finance divisions, as well as U.S. Sales division to understand vehicle packaging plans, financial goals, and sales objectives.
  • Incorporate understanding into pricing recommendations.
  • Manage pricing-related consulting engagements, residual forecasting, new model price/product events, etc., to maximize residual value, improve 3rd party perception of all Hyundai models and communicate model pricing and value position within the segment.
  • Support various ad-hoc pricing strategy-related requests.
  • Input pricing data into BLS.
  • Oversee the development and execution of departmental budget, including PR’s, accruals, and payments.
  • Send out weekly pricing action summary email to group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Six or more years or more of experience preferably related to automotive industry with focus on quantitative and competitive analyses.
  • Automotive OEM experience preferred.
  • Experience pricing consumer products preferred.
  • Self-starter, ability to thrive with little supervision, navigating an ambiguous product environment to define future model positioning within current product whitespace.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry, competitive landscapes, and an understanding of pricing strategy.
  • Ability to explain complex issues and assess the impact of pricing-based decisions on each Hyundai model in relation to the overall lineup and competitive marketplace.
  • Ability to formulate well-structured data-driven arguments and communicate, both written and orally, to all levels of management.
  • Experience working well under pressure, with multiple divisions within the company and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, SAP, and ability to grasp new concepts, large databases and proprietary software.
