About the role

  • Lead the NAQC Chassis Group to improve overall quality, enhance customer perception, and ensure stable deployment of new vehicles.
  • Monitor quality trends and lead chassis-related quality projects, including pre/post-launch evaluations and supplier/service quality improvements, to reduce warranty costs.
  • Collaborate with North American affiliates to review field issues, develop containment plans, and support HMG investigations by coordinating affiliate involvement and sharing findings.
  • Maintain effective communication among N.A. affiliates, Korean counterparts, and suppliers.
  • Set group goals aligned with corporate direction and manage strategies, operational plans, staffing, and budgets; mentor direct reports.
  • Plan and execute initiatives to strengthen engineering capability within the team.
  • Prepare weekly plans, activity reports, and executive summaries to track performance and progress.
  • Review external safety and product feedback databases to identify potential quality concerns.
  • Report quality issues with accurate test conditions and duplication details for proper countermeasure development.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as purchase orders, vacation requests, travel requests, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Have bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have 10+ years of experience in the area of QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality Investigation & Root Cause Analysis.
  • Familiarity with vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition tools (e.g., NVH/CAN/thermal loggers, oscilloscope, various gauges, etc.), service manuals, shop equipment, and chassis-related test equipment
  • Be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous team management experience is preferred.
  • Travel up to 20% of time (domestic & international).
  • Be willing to support initiatives that may fall outside the day-to-day activities listed above.
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
