About the role
- Lead the NAQC Chassis Group to improve overall quality, enhance customer perception, and ensure stable deployment of new vehicles.
- Monitor quality trends and lead chassis-related quality projects, including pre/post-launch evaluations and supplier/service quality improvements, to reduce warranty costs.
- Collaborate with North American affiliates to review field issues, develop containment plans, and support HMG investigations by coordinating affiliate involvement and sharing findings.
- Maintain effective communication among N.A. affiliates, Korean counterparts, and suppliers.
- Set group goals aligned with corporate direction and manage strategies, operational plans, staffing, and budgets; mentor direct reports.
- Plan and execute initiatives to strengthen engineering capability within the team.
- Prepare weekly plans, activity reports, and executive summaries to track performance and progress.
- Review external safety and product feedback databases to identify potential quality concerns.
- Report quality issues with accurate test conditions and duplication details for proper countermeasure development.
- Perform administrative tasks such as purchase orders, vacation requests, travel requests, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Have bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Have 10+ years of experience in the area of QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality Investigation & Root Cause Analysis.
- Familiarity with vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition tools (e.g., NVH/CAN/thermal loggers, oscilloscope, various gauges, etc.), service manuals, shop equipment, and chassis-related test equipment
- Be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous team management experience is preferred.
- Travel up to 20% of time (domestic & international).
- Be willing to support initiatives that may fall outside the day-to-day activities listed above.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
