About the role
- Shape, conduct and translate user research to create actionable insights for product experience strategy and design
- Manage and professionally develop a small team of exceptional designers; mentor on soft and hard skills and career goals
- Craft and communicate compelling concepts that are forward-facing, differentiated, and relevant to customer and business needs
- Tease out important characteristics of users, their environments and market expectations to support prioritized and intuitive experiences
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Scrum and Quality to define requirements and deliver user experiences
- Advocate for tactility, accessibility, customer needs and design excellence; measure and own results after release
Requirements
- Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills and ability to give and receive feedback
- Management track record: led at least one designer as a direct report
- Mentorship experience, formal or informal
- Proficient with low and high fidelity prototyping tools and wireframing techniques, including modern AI-powered prototyping platforms
- Problem-solving skills to address complex design challenges considering technical, business and design constraints
- Organizational skills to assess appropriate level of design and research and plan to deliver final deliverables
- Technical proficiency with component-based design software (e.g., Figma and Adobe Creative suite) and tools like Miro
- A robust portfolio showcasing user flows, wireframes, prototypes and final design solutions
