About the role
- Define strategy for motion across our design system: principles, guidelines, and scalable patterns.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and brand teams to create reusable, accessible motion standards.
- Prototype motion that enhances usability, transitions, interactions, and information hierarchy.
- Build motion guidelines and documentation to empower teams to implement motion consistently.
- Embed accessibility standards (e.g., reduced motion preferences, timing guidelines).
- Maintain and evolve motion tokens, transitions, and interactions across platforms (React).
- Mentor designers and promote motion literacy via demos, critiques, and workshops.
- Contribute to updating our design language with a focus on interaction design, microanimations, AI loading states, pictogram motion, and transitions.
- Use AI design tools to explore and prototype forward-thinking motion concepts.
Requirements
- A portfolio showing system-level motion design that solved complex UX challenges
- Deep expertise in motion principles, usability, accessibility, and interaction design
- Experience developing bespoke motion patterns that express a brand and product
- Track record of shipping motion in production-ready systems, in partnership with engineers
- Experience in building and documenting component libraries and token strategies
- Ability to prioritize, drive projects, and make data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence cross-functional teams and leadership
- Expert skills in using Figma, After Effects, and Lottie
- A curious mindset with a passion for emerging tools like Replit and Lovable
