About the role

  • Define strategy for motion across our design system: principles, guidelines, and scalable patterns.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and brand teams to create reusable, accessible motion standards.
  • Prototype motion that enhances usability, transitions, interactions, and information hierarchy.
  • Build motion guidelines and documentation to empower teams to implement motion consistently.
  • Embed accessibility standards (e.g., reduced motion preferences, timing guidelines).
  • Maintain and evolve motion tokens, transitions, and interactions across platforms (React).
  • Mentor designers and promote motion literacy via demos, critiques, and workshops.
  • Contribute to updating our design language with a focus on interaction design, microanimations, AI loading states, pictogram motion, and transitions.
  • Use AI design tools to explore and prototype forward-thinking motion concepts.

Requirements

  • A portfolio showing system-level motion design that solved complex UX challenges
  • Deep expertise in motion principles, usability, accessibility, and interaction design
  • Experience developing bespoke motion patterns that express a brand and product
  • Track record of shipping motion in production-ready systems, in partnership with engineers
  • Experience in building and documenting component libraries and token strategies
  • Ability to prioritize, drive projects, and make data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Expert skills in using Figma, After Effects, and Lottie
  • A curious mindset with a passion for emerging tools like Replit and Lovable
