About the role

Improve the user experience and interface of different areas of Kraken and shape how users interact with them
Work day-to-day in a cross-functional team with developers, PMs, users, and clients when designing new features and products
Collaborate to build and maintain the Design system, its library, documentation and patterns
Conduct user research and own UX and UI end-to-end
Share designs for feedback early and often; provide design feedback to team members
Plan and facilitate workshops, user interviews, usability testing and discovery activities
Delegate smaller tasks and projects to junior designers to prioritise time
Refine and add to design process documentation and onboarding materials; trial new design processes
Communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues and support defining roadmaps and big-picture strategy

At least 2 years of professional experience designing digital products
Experience using Design Systems and component libraries
High proficiency with Figma - It is our main design tool
Understanding of design processes; know which steps are needed or can be skipped
Experience working with designers, PMs, Front-End and Back-End developers
Attention to detail and delivering high-quality designs
Ability to focus on user needs and improve usability/UX
Focus on accessibility and inclusion when designing components, interfaces and interactions
Fluent English (additional languages beneficial)
Basic understanding/experience with front-end frameworks (Bootstrap, React…), HTML and CSS
Participation in project stand-ups with developers
Experience with project management tools like Asana and agile processes
Knowledge of web accessibility and designing for accessibility
Experience using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar…)
Experience performing user interviews and user testing
