About the role
- Oversee all plant operations to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production.
- Provide safe and healthy working conditions for all employees and act as an environmental steward in support of the surrounding community.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to establish and execute strategic goals and the long-term vision for the site.
- Implement operational measures that enable the facility to meet or exceed corporate objectives, including shipments, conversion cost, inventory levels (dollars and days on hand), budgets, and On-Time Delivery Performance (OTDP).
- Foster a positive and effective working environment with strong communication practices that encourage all team members to feel engaged and aligned.
- Drive continuous operational improvements to maximize resource utilization and optimize the value of capital investments.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify inefficiencies, waste, or overtime trends.
- Perform administrative tasks such as preparing reports, presentations, and operational performance summaries.
- Coordinate the annual budget-setting process and develop/monitor the appropriate metrics to achieve cost, productivity, capital spending, absorption, and inventory days-on-hand targets.
- Deliver strong quality results by management of our quality program within the facility.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with EHS, quality, productivity, volume, and cost goals.
- Evaluate performance against production goals and take corrective action as needed.
- Maintain flexibility to support plant operations across multiple shifts.
- Monitor, report on, and act upon critical operational metrics to ensure consistent performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field (required)
- 10+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting (required)
- Computer literacy (required)
- 10-15 years of relevant plant managing experience.
- Proven experience applying business and management principles.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
- Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple departments.
- Must have the ability to lead a team and to build talent in support of the team.
