About the role

  • Design, build, and configure SAP applications

  • Analyze query performance, identify optimization opportunities, and implement database tuning techniques to improve query execution times.
  • Implement and maintain robust backup strategies, including full backups, incremental backups, and point-in-time recovery to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures.
  • Create, manage, and maintain user accounts and access privileges within the HANA system.
  • Implement and enforce security policies to protect sensitive data, including user authentication, authorization controls, and data encryption.
  • Configure and maintain HA configurations to ensure continuous database operation in case of hardware failures.
  • Apply necessary SAP HANA patches and updates to maintain system stability and security.
  • Monitor system resource usage and proactively plan for future capacity needs to avoid performance degradation.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to database connectivity, data corruption, performance issues, and system errors.
  • Generate reports on system health, performance metrics, and usage patterns to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SAP Basis Administration
  • Strong understanding of SAP application design, build, and configuration
  • Experience in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of SAP HANA database architecture, features, and functionalities
  • Expertise in SQL and HANA specific query optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of database administration concepts like backup and recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery
  • Proficiency in HANA Studio and other HANA administration tools
  • Understanding of SAP Basis concepts and system landscape
  • Experience with system monitoring and performance analysis tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
