About the role
- Travel to customer sites 75–90% of the time for several days and weeks at a time
- Manage your own travel arrangements, site coordination, and reporting.
- Program, configure, and test fire alarm control panels and related devices.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational readiness and code compliance.
- Oversee subcontractors and perform quality checks in accordance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable fire codes.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to meet project schedules and quality expectations.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Perform additional duties as required to support project and business objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fire protection or a closely related field.
- Hands-on experience with fire alarm panel programming, including new construction and retrofit projects.
- NICET Level II or III certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Strong understanding of NFPA codes, local fire regulations, and industry standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 90%.
- Ability to pass an FAA background check.
- Associate's degree in Fire Protection Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (we value).
- Notifier manufacturer certification (we value).
- NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems (we value).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot independently and provide mentorship to junior technicians (we value).
- Familiarity with Honeywell XLS-3000 and ZLS-140 systems a strong plus (we value).
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills (we value).
