About the role
- Manage the tendering team responsible for winning AC substations and Power Quality works within the UK
- Develop pre-sales contract strategies
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and business management teams to structure proposals/contracts/bid documents
- Review team size on a quarterly basis
- Negotiate contracts that are consistent with business objectives
- Annual budgeting with regular forecasting
- Manage preparation of all technical, financial, cash flow and operational delivery aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation
- Reviewing bids before submission and ensuring appropriate governance has been followed
- Identify potential risks and opportunities in contract agreements across customers/channels
- Work with other function managers to ensure suitable support is provided to tenders
Requirements
- Proven experience focused on new business generation with a strong track record of winning new customers is essential
- Proven track record as a manager building and developing high performance teams
- High Voltage (HV) and (400kV–132kV) and MV (66kV-11kV) knowledge and Industrial substation experience preferred
- Understanding of Construction contracts (NEC, FIDIC, etc)
- Sound communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Comfortable presenting to large teams including Senior Management
- Ability to priorities and work to deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure and work on your own initiative
- Good PC skills
