About the role
- Develop and execute a comprehensive N American sales strategy to achieve company revenue goals in the plastic extrusion market.
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing sales team.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across key verticals including pipe & profile, fiber, and custom extrusion.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with strategic customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product Development, and Marketing to align offerings with customer needs and industry trends.
- Oversee complex capital equipment sales cycles—from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and post-sale support.
- Manage pricing strategies, margin targets, and contract terms in alignment with company objectives.
- Analyze market dynamics, customer data, and competitor activity to guide decision-making and strategy.
- Represent the company at major trade shows, technical conferences, and industry associations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field; MBA or technical master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in capital equipment
- Strong understanding of extrusion processes such as PVC pipe, PO pipe, profile, compounding, and sheet extrusion.
- Demonstrated success in managing long, consultative sales cycles and closing multi-million-dollar deals.
- Deep industry network and reputation within plastics processing markets is a plus.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 60%).
- Experience selling machinery such as extruders, dies, downstream equipment, or complete extrusion lines is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., Oracle, Salesforce) is also preferred.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus (especially Spanish).
