About the role
- Design the next generation of Hiya’s consumer AI mobile app for small businesses, including mobile UI, user flows, and prototypes
- Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to uncover user pain points and generate solutions
- Tell compelling stories through sketches, flows, prototypes, and polished UI
- Design end-to-end from discovery and ideation through polished experiences, flows, and prototypes
- Carry forward conceptual design work and evolve it into comprehensive product experiences engineers can build
- Present design decisions grounded in research and data, and incorporate collaborative feedback
- Shape the future of Hiya’s consumer AI mobile app, partnering with product, research, and leadership to deliver value for users and the business
Requirements
- Portfolio that clearly communicates design process and measurable impact, focused on consumer mobile app design for Android and iOS
- Enthusiasm for exploring and adopting AI tools and processes to enhance design craft and create AI-powered experiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects, balance priorities, and communicate capacity and realistic timelines
- Skill at turning fuzzy user needs and complex problems into focused design solutions
- Experience building on existing design work, patterns, and components and delivering comprehensive design documentation
- Strong collaboration skills across product, research, and engineering teams; comfortable with Agile iteration
- Figma expertise (component libraries, prototyping, FigJam)
- Fluent in Android and iOS native guidelines and designing consistent experiences across both platforms
- Working knowledge of design systems and contributing thoughtfully to them
- UX writing skills to strengthen app experience
- Must be able to start immediately (Start Date: Immediately)
- Location: based in Seattle, WA; willingness to be located in or relocate to Greater Seattle may be required
