About the role
- Timely and accurately submit Federal, State, and Local payroll taxes for US entities doing business in multiple states and localities
- Prepare complete, accurate, and timely payroll tax return filings
- Reconcile wages and withholding for monthly, quarterly, and annual withholding and unemployment tax returns
- Prepare jurisdictional registration documentation for all entities
- Research and timely resolution of Federal, State, and Local taxing authority inquiries and discrepancies, including tax notices
- Assist in review and analysis of applicable tax laws and regulations
- Prepare payroll tax financial account reconciliation
- Support multi-entity payroll tax compliance and collaborate with HII’s corporate/controller team
- Provide timely responses to tax authorities and resolve discrepancies
- Participate in process improvements and tax compliance projects
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field plus at least 6 years of relevant experience
- OR Master’s degree and 4 years relevant experience
- Preferably experience with multi-jurisdictional payroll tax compliance for a large employer
- Experience handling complex payroll tax compliance for multi-state and localities
- Experience with SAP and Tax Reporter
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with tax research services (e.g., Checkpoint)
- Experience with shadow payroll for employees on international assignment
- CPP Designation
- Strong technology and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities
- Ability and willingness to travel 10%-25% of the time
