Lead media & influencer relations: craft and deliver high-quality pitches, maintain strong relationships across business/finance/industry publications, develop influencer and amplification strategies (LinkedIn, podcasts, niche media), utilize social channels, track media performance and demonstrate ROI, mentor junior team members
Client service & program management: lead tactical delivery of client programs (media relations, executive thought leadership, awards, speaking, content), own day-to-day client communications and weekly PR calls, manage projects end-to-end, develop quarterly PR plans and campaign calendars, monitor industry/competitor/regulatory news, lead media training sessions, assist in budgeting and resource allocation
Writing & content development: write and edit press releases, pitches, executive commentary, contributed articles, blogs, speaking abstracts, awards submissions, messaging documents, backgrounders, Q&As, and media briefing books; translate complex ideas into accessible narratives
Insights, analytics & integration: lead client reporting using analytics tools, apply data to evolve storytelling and pitching strategies, collaborate with content/design/social/strategy teams to ensure integrated delivery, support AI adoption to enhance research and efficiency
Mentorship & collaboration: coach junior staff on media relations, writing, and industry expertise; contribute to collaborative team culture and lead by example
Agency engagement & operations: support new business research and pitches, share expertise via blog posts and trainings, participate in industry events and networking, recommend workflow improvements, embrace flexible work culture
Professional growth & self-development: set and track quarterly performance goals, prioritize tasks and own timelines, drive initiatives with accountability, seek feedback, meet deadlines, and stay current on financial services, insurtech, and business news
Requirements
3–5 years of public relations experience in an agency setting (required)
Experience in financial services, insurance technology, or other professional services industries (required)
Strong media relationships across business, financial, and trade outlets (e.g., CNBC, Bloomberg, WSJ, Business Insider, Insurance Journal, etc.)
Ability to distill complex business topics into engaging stories for diverse media audiences
Excellent writing and editing skills across formats
Confidence managing client relationships and internal teams
Familiarity with analytics tools and reporting best practices
