About the role

Design, implement, and optimise localisation workflows and automation pipelines.
Ensure products are technically prepared for internationalisation (i18n): text handling, date/time/number formats, currency, right-to-left support, encoding standards.
Manage and integrate localisation platforms such as Crowdin, Smartling, and other TMS solutions with development and release processes.
Support multiple file formats (JSON, XML, XLIFF, resource bundles, etc.) and integrate with source control systems (e.g. Git).
Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and QA teams to resolve localisation issues and ensure UI/UX works across languages.
Conduct functional, linguistic, and UI testing for localised builds; troubleshoot text expansion, truncation, or display errors.
Build and maintain localisation documentation, style guides, glossaries, and best practices.
Continuously improve localisation infrastructure for scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Experience as a localisation engineer or in a related technical role
Strong understanding of localisation and internationalisation principles
Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g. Python, JavaScript, or similar) to automate workflows
Hands-on experience with localisation platforms such as Crowdin, Smartling, or comparable TMS/CAT tools
Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) and automation of localisation within build pipelines
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug technical and linguistic issues
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across teams
