About the role
- Provides operational leadership including physician engagement across the province.
- Manages physician staffing for ED/UC sites across the health system.
- Oversees physician workforce development and analytics.
- Recruitment and retention of ED/UC physicians.
- Performance reporting related to ED/UC physicians across six regions.
- Develops and executes a staffing plan for physicians and relevant roles (e.g. Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Assistant, Physician Assistant) that support the provincial ED/UC program.
- Works closely with the Provincial Clinical Team, Provincial HHR including Planning and Labour Relations, Finance, and the Provincial Service Delivery Organizations.
- Plans and establishes priorities amongst competing demands for resources.
Requirements
- 7+ years related experience in progressively responsible positions preferably in health administration.
- Must possess extensive leadership and stakeholder engagement skills and experience.
- Must possess significant experience in business, financial, project and human resources management including recruitment and retention.
- Post-secondary degree in health administration, business administration, finance, or related field.
- Additional training in workforce analytics, project management, health system planning or finance/accounting is an asset.
- Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a personal motor vehicle.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities consistent with the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple organizations.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Superior communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to function under pressure, exercise good judgment and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lead, devise and implement new and alternative systems and procedures within areas of responsibility.
