About the role

  • Providing clerical support to the Manager(s) Health Services.
  • Processing job postings and related paperwork.
  • Maintaining position control and staffing baselines.
  • Registering new hires in orientation sessions.
  • Ensuring the Manager(s) is/are aware of staffing levels.
  • Maintaining information and employee profiles in the ESP staff scheduling system.
  • Updating the day to day schedule changes in ESP.
  • Running staffing reports as requested.
  • Coordinating appointment calendar for the Manager(s) and performing other clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years previous related experience, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with previous staff scheduling experience.
  • Complete grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills required.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Typing 50 wpm, medical terminology (pass mark 75%) required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
  • Knowledge of Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) or other service-based staff scheduling systems preferred.
  • Must be able to independently maintain an office and demonstrate independent decision-making and judgement pertaining to administrative tasks.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, beliefs and practices.
