About the role

  • Drive the Process: Be a key player in the month-end close, preparing critical journal entries for revenue, payroll, and accrued expenses.
  • Master Reconciliation: Expertly handle bank reconciliations and reconcile complex accounts like restricted cash, debt service, and security deposits.
  • Ensure Accuracy: Review accounts payable and expenditures for proper classification and approve company expense reports.
  • Manage Fixed Assets: Roll forward fixed assets and reconcile them to the general ledger.
  • Create Clarity: Prepare and review monthly financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow) ensuring full GAAP compliance.
  • Provide Insight: Generate budget vs. actual variance reports that help leadership make informed decisions.
  • Maintain the Ledger: Keep the general ledger immaculate, regularly reviewing account details and maintaining working knowledge of community agreements.
  • Be the Go-To Expert: Assist Community Managers, Field Leadership, and other departments with their accounting activities, budgets, and payment tracking.
  • Navigate with Ease: Effectively use our systems (Manage America, Divvy, Sage Intacct) to support operations and streamline processes.
  • Tackle Challenges: Take on diverse projects and tasks as assigned, demonstrating your ability to adapt and deliver.
  • Build Bridges: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships within your team and across all departments.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Familiar with accounting terminology and the full cycle of account reconciliation.
