About the role

  • Serve as the first point of contact for leaders and employees at Hartbeat, fostering effective relationships across the company.
  • In partnership with our external HR consultant and leadership, manage employee relations issues, applying sound judgment to resolve concerns while adhering to legal/regulatory compliance and company policies
  • Foster an environment of trust and integrity, ensuring employees feel heard and respected, while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
  • Guide and advise managers in driving a performance-driven culture, coaching them on providing effective feedback to unleash the potential of their teams.
  • Monitor and positively influence team dynamics and our Hartbeat corporate culture.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen engagement and organizational culture, including but not limited to performance management, compensation planning, learning and development, on/offboarding, and employee engagement.
  • Monitor and assess employee engagement and organizational health, identifying themes or trends through conversations, stay/exit interviews, feedback, and informal check-ins. Leverage these insights to partner with leadership to address opportunities for improvement.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and programs that foster connection, recognition, and a positive workplace experience, helping to translate employee feedback into actionable improvements.
  • Partner with divisional leaders to manage human capital budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support people initiatives.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth transitions and change management processes.
  • Develop talent acquisition strategies and support full lifecycle recruiting as business needs arise, including:
  • Partnering with hiring managers to define role requirements
  • Supporting candidate sourcing, assessment, and selection
  • Assisting offer preparation and closing candidates
  • Collaborate with external recruiters or recruiting partners when needed.
  • Support key HR processes including compensation planning, employee retention, on/offboarding, and compliance.
  • Help maintain HR documentation, policies, and employee communications related to people programs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure continuity of core HR operations including compliance, benefits & payroll administration alongside the external benefits/payroll specialist to maintain smooth employee support and compliance.
  • Provide leadership with insights on employee sentiment and organizational health.
  • Conduct pulse check surveys as needed to identify areas of concern to surface and address with leadership.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting a workplace where all employees feel valued and respected.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably previous experience as an HRBP or generalist
  • Experience leading employee relations, including investigations and strong understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Proven ability to coach managers and influence leadership
  • Experience supporting recruiting or talent acquisition leadership
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive situations
  • Ability to thrive in a start-up, evolving environment
  • Ability to balance employee advocacy with business priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust quickly
  • Both strategic and hands-on in how you approach your role
