About the role
- Operate as a freelance interpreter/translator in a 1099 Independent Contractor role for Hanna Interpreting Services LLC.
- Bridge the communication gap for non-English speakers by providing language access and interpreting services.
- Set your availability, accept appointments based on your schedule, and act as your own boss.
- Provide interpreting in various settings (appointments may include medical, legal, or educational contexts).
- Appointments available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; appointments are offered based on need and are not guaranteed.
- Complete recruitment steps including preliminary interview, skills assessment, background check, and onboarding to join the linguist network.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
- Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate basic communication
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.
