About the role
- Operate as a freelance ASL interpreter (1099 Independent Contractor), setting your availability and accepting appointments based on your schedule.
- Provide ASL interpreting services to bridge communication gaps and support language access for clients.
- Accept appointments typically during business hours Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
- Appointments are offered based on need and are not guaranteed.
- Complete onboarding steps including a skills assessment and background check to join the linguist network.
Requirements
- Exhibit proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Be willing to complete ASL (American Sign Language) assessment by as Certified ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications).
- Complete all required documents in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
- High School Diploma or equivalent
