Review and support the client’s data policies, processes, and standards to identify strengths and areas for improvement and provide recommendations for the current and future architecture to support data and analytical needs.
Collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data to identify trends, assess performance, and develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals and data-driven decision-making for the client.
Develop and maintain data governance documentation, tools, and templates.
Define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information meets the client’s needs.
Develop data pipelines involving collecting, transforming, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources, using tools such as Palantir.
Coordinate with non-technical users to gather requirements.
Identify, summarize, and catalog data fidelity issues, and make recommendations to the client on how to resolve or mitigate the issues.
Develop intuitive, attractive, and interactive data visualizations using large data sets to create dashboards, using tools such as Tableau and Power BI, for a diverse set of users with varying technical capabilities.
Request, document, report, and analyze data, and where applicable, create tools and resources to support data and reporting.
Support hybrid work environments involving work on client site, in a Guidehouse office, and remote.
Requirements
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
Bachelor's degree is required
Minimum FOUR (4) years of experience in hands-on data engineering and/or database management
Understanding of relational database concepts and structures.
Demonstrated ability to perform data blending, joining, and cleaning to ensure accurate and usable datasets using querying or data engineering software tools, such as SQL, Palantir, etc.
Experience using Palantir Foundry to clean, transform and integrate complex datasets into production systems (e.g., Archibus).
Experience reading and cleaning data from external tables and importing it into relational database tables.
Ability to detect data issues affecting the performance of data pipelines and devise techniques for resolving or mitigating them.
Knowledge of Archibus and/or Kahua. (Nice to Have)
Proficiency in querying and joining datasets using SQL. (Nice to Have)
Proficiency in data wrangling and analysis using Python. (Nice to Have)
Proficiency developing dashboards using Tableau or Power BI. (Nice to Have)
Experience utilizing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools to streamline and automate workflows. (Nice to Have)
Proficiency in programming with Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). (Nice to Have)
Experience supporting Department of State and/or understanding of the nomenclature and organizational structure of offices within the Department of State. (Nice to Have)
