About the role
- Lead exploration, evaluation, and implementation of emerging technologies (AI, ML, blockchain, advanced analytics, quantum computing, IoT, edge computing)
- Lead technical proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot programs to evaluate feasibility, scalability, and business value
- Build partnerships with technology vendors, startups, and academic institutions
- Define and design enterprise-level architecture frameworks to enable adoption of emerging technologies
- Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business goals and drive long-term innovation
- Ensure adherence to architectural standards, policies, and compliance requirements
- Partner with business leaders, IT, R&D, manufacturing, commercial and global functions to identify and co-create innovation opportunities
- Identify, prioritize, and implement high-value use cases for emerging technologies
- Establish metrics to measure impact and value realization of emerging technologies
- Act as a thought leader: educate/train teams, organise workshops, seminars, and hackathons to promote innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- Total 16+ years of experience, including 10+ years in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or innovation roles in large-scale organizations
- Proven expertise evaluating and implementing emerging technologies (AI, ML, IoT, blockchain, quantum computing, advanced analytics, edge computing)
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and compliant architecture solutions
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Preferred: Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry
- Preferred: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to GSK’s operations
- Preferred: Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar
- Demonstrated success driving technology innovation projects from ideation to implementation
- Behavioral competencies: strategic thinker; adaptable to fast-paced environments; strong problem-solving; collaborative and inclusive
