Operations

• Oversee operations and drive performance across our Charlotte and Charleston hubs by leading, supporting, and growing a high performing team of up to ~30 pet stylists.
• Drive safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in all aspects of grooming operations, including mobile services, hub operations, and inventory management.
• Directly manage and develop a Grooming Operations Coordinator (GOC), who supports the GOM on day-to-day operational execution, scheduling and routing, and groomer development, while building the skills and capabilities required to grow into a Grooming Operations Manager role.
• Accountable for team performance, including but not limited to attendance, productivity, rebooking, quality and customer experience.
• Own the territory P&L, balancing revenue growth, labor efficiency, and operating costs to drive sustainable, profitable performance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day service, scheduling, and operational escalations to ensure the customer experience is always world-class.
• Oversee fleet readiness for the territory in partnership with Fleet Managers, ensuring grooming vans are maintained, serviced, and available to support daily schedules and business needs.
• Own customer experience for the territory and work directly with pet parents to ensure the quality of service is as expected.
• Prioritize ongoing training, development, and engagement for Pet Stylists and operational support staff.
• Embody the Barkbus core values and ensure Pet Stylist and GOC accountability to those standards.
• Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with internal cross-functional partners including Customer Operations, Fleet Operations, Learning and Development, People Operations, and Leadership.
• Lead operational execution at scale, balancing hands-on leadership with strategic oversight as the territory grows.
• Other engaging ad-hoc duties and projects may be assigned.

Operations Manager

Security Engineer

• Own Barkbus’ end-to-end safety and security strategy across fleet operations, hubs, and non-grooming workplaces.
• Build scalable safety frameworks, policies, and procedures that support rapid growth.
• Establish safety KPIs and infrastructure to track performance, trends, and continuous improvement.
• Report regularly on safety performance, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive driver safety program focused on reducing preventable incidents.
• Monitor Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with managers to address violations, unsafe driving patterns, and corrective actions.
• Leverage telematics and driver behavior data to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Design and manage coaching programs to support drivers and employees who require additional training or behavior correction.
• Partner with Operations and People teams to deliver effective safety training and reinforcement.
• Track coaching outcomes and behavior improvements over time.
• Lead investigations for fleet, hub, and workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions, policy updates, or training enhancements.
• Track incident severity, frequency, and cost data to inform insurance, liability, and prevention strategies.
• Drive a strong culture of safety across the organization through clear communication and engagement.
• Develop and distribute regular safety communications, including updates, insights, and best practices.
• Partner cross-functionally to embed safety into daily operations and decision-making.
• Develop and implement security standards for all Barkbus hubs and physical locations.
• Oversee security systems including cameras, alarms, lighting, and access controls.
• Investigate security incidents such as break-ins, trespassing, or property damage.
• Create and maintain emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of OSHA and applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Lead workplace safety audits and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Proactively identify regulatory risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Safety & Security Manager
