About the role
- Work as Mechanical Engineering Intern in Lexington, KY office within Mechanical Engineering group at Gray AES.

- Research, analyze, and calculate data (customer design proposals, specifications, manuals) to determine feasibility.
- Prepare design criteria and bid packages for subcontractor pricing.
- Participate in estimating for building systems and analyze subcontractor proposals.
- Review construction documents and installed work for compliance with scope and contract documents.
- Review and update engineering design standards; perform other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, and project managers in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Requirements
- Gray internships are open to students legally authorized to work in the U.S. that do not need current and/or future visa sponsorship or work status authorization for employment.
- Researches, analyzes and calculates data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Prepares design criteria and bid packages for pricing by subcontractors.
- Participates in estimating process for building systems.
- Analyzes subcontractor proposals to confirm criteria is being satisfied.
- Reviews construction documents and construction installed from subcontractors to confirm compliance with scope and contract documents.
- Reviews and updates engineering design standards.
