About the role
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support for up to five Justices of the Alberta Court of Justice
- Managing calendars and scheduling appointments
- Documenting and processing budgetary/claim expenses
- Typing, formatting, editing, and proofreading judgments
- Researching and verifying case and statute citations
- Preparing correspondence and memoranda of a highly complex and confidential nature
- Preparing material for court hearings
- Handling sensitive and confidential information
- Establishing and maintaining hard-copy and electronic filing systems
- Handling incoming telephone inquiries and mail
- Coordinating travel arrangements
- Coordinating meetings and conferences
- Scheduling judicial assignments
- Performing backup duties for other Judicial Paralegals
- Performing other related administrative tasks as requested
Requirements
- A two-year diploma in a related field (e.g., Legal Assistant, Legal Administration, and Paralegal) supplemented with at least two year progressively responsible related experience
- Previous experience as a Judicial Assistant/Paralegal/ Executive Assistant
- A Legal Assistant Diploma
- Previous experience working in an office setup supporting multiple lawyers
- Experience working in a Court environment, preferably with the Court of Justice
- Experience working in M365 environment.
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM desired.
