About the role

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support for up to five Justices of the Alberta Court of Justice
  • Manage calendars and scheduling appointments
  • Document and process budgetary/claim expenses
  • Type, format, edit and proofread judgments
  • Research and prepare correspondence and memoranda of a highly complex nature
  • Prepare material for court hearings
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Establish and maintain hard-copy and electronic filing systems
  • Handle incoming telephone inquiries and mail
  • Coordinate travel arrangements
  • Schedule judicial assignments
  • Perform backup duties for other Paralegals.

Requirements

  • A two-year diploma in a related field (e.g., Legal Assistant, Legal Administration, Paralegal)
  • At least two years progressively responsible related experience
  • Previous experience as a Judicial Assistant/Paralegal/ Executive Assistant
  • A Legal Assistant Diploma
  • Experience working in a Court environment, preferably with the Court of Justice
  • Experience working in M365 environment.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 WPM desired.
