About the role
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support for up to five Justices of the Alberta Court of Justice
- Manage calendars and scheduling appointments
- Document and process budgetary/claim expenses
- Type, format, edit and proofread judgments
- Research and prepare correspondence and memoranda of a highly complex nature
- Prepare material for court hearings
- Handle sensitive and confidential information
- Establish and maintain hard-copy and electronic filing systems
- Handle incoming telephone inquiries and mail
- Coordinate travel arrangements
- Schedule judicial assignments
- Perform backup duties for other Paralegals.
Requirements
- A two-year diploma in a related field (e.g., Legal Assistant, Legal Administration, Paralegal)
- At least two years progressively responsible related experience
- Previous experience as a Judicial Assistant/Paralegal/ Executive Assistant
- A Legal Assistant Diploma
- Experience working in a Court environment, preferably with the Court of Justice
- Experience working in M365 environment.
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM desired.
