Journalist

• Track the state Legislature throughout the session, following policy and oversight from the state Capitol
• Work with the state team to compile the daily Albany Agenda newsletter
• Pitch, report and write original coverage and analysis of state lawmaking
• Compile the First Read Tonight newsletter from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. two to three times per week
• Occasionally moderate City & State’s panels or events

State Politics Reporter

• Proactively engage to learn markets, prospects, and outreach tactics
• Establish goals and objectives on a rolling basis
• Well prepared for each day’s activities relative to other directors and deputies of enrollment
• Achieve business success factors including daily call volumes and weekly enrollment targets
• Lead multiple marketing campaigns and outreach strategies simultaneously
• Maintain clear (and complete) records of all outreach via CRM
• Present dashboard reports of success factors weekly
• Maximize sales potential in predefined territories by engaging prospects to build awareness of Academy products and services and converting prospects to sales
• Sustain and enhance customer relations with existing and prior customers to drive rebooking of Academy participants
• Build and execute marketing campaigns, follow up plans, and reporting via succinct dashboards that illustrate TAM, progress toward goals, and effective rates of engagement

Director of Enrollment

• The Role Defense One is seeking an experienced reporter to join our Washington, D.C., newsroom and expand our coverage of the Air Force and Space Force. The Staff Reporter will break news, write articles, and moderate live events. We want enterprise stories that connect service branches to current events, reporting on news and newsmakers from the Pentagon to the farthest combat outposts, from industry expos to chow halls. As a Staff Reporter, you will cover how U.S. troops are being funded, equipped, prepared and tasked to execute policy and missions. Responsibilities: Report and write news on deadline. File frequent and clean copy. Some travel to cover service-specific events, conferences and shows. Occasional news production, including posting to the site, editing photos, writing headlines and sending news alerts. Collaborate with other members of the Defense One newsroom.

Staff Reporter, Air Force and Space Force

Events

• Create marketing plans, copywriting and copyediting, segmenting audiences, conducting market research, and engaging audiences to register for various events
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, including email and social media marketing, digital advertising, and more
• Focus on email and website marketing, and event marketing for virtual and in-person events
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns to drive registrations and attendance to multiple events at a given time
• Create unique and engaging marketing copy and design across emails and social media
• Employ email best practices for send times, subject lines, list segmentation, formatting, and deliverability
• Analyze KPIs and success metrics to adapt and shape marketing strategy in real time, including registration pacing and event show-rates
• Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders to meet campaign objectives
• Collaborate with teams, including sales, to ensure materials are up to date
• Staff in-person events in the Washington, D.C. area
• Assist sister company ATARC in event marketing efforts
