About the role
- Support GitLab’s strategic large prospects and customers
- Provide account leadership and direction in the pre- and post-sales process
- Conduct sales activities including prospecting and developing opportunities in large/strategic accounts
- Ensure successful rollout and adoption of GitLab products through account management and coordination with pre-and-post sales and support resources
- Be the voice of the customer by contributing product ideas to public issue tracker
- Generate qualified leads and develop new customers with strategic channel partners
- Expand knowledge of industry and competitive posture
- Prepare activity and forecast reports and contribute to root cause analysis on wins/losses
- Communicate lessons learned to account managers, marketing, and technical teams
- Assist sales management in conveying customer needs to product managers and technical support
- Utilize consultative approach to develop quotes, proposals, and presentations addressing customer business needs
- Develop account plans and collaborate with Marketing on strategies
Requirements
- Positive record of Enterprise Sales experience
- Solid background in the software development lifecycle (CI/CD automation, secure development practices, infrastructure modernization)
- Preferred experience selling to financial services (Banking, Insurance, Payments, FinTech) and understanding of compliance requirements (e.g. SOX, PCI-DSS, GLBA, OCC)
- Preferred experience with Git, Software Development Tools, Application Lifecycle Management, or security/App Sec tools
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and closing skills
- Ability to leverage established relationships and proven sales techniques
- Able to provide high degree of account management and control
- Work under minimal supervision on complex projects
- Ability to use GitLab
- Ability to travel if needed and comply with the company’s travel policy
