About the role
- Lead interconnection strategy and execution for large load customers across the U.S.
- Screen and qualify markets/sites using time-to-power, grid constraints, queue position/dynamics, upgrade exposure, and transmission availability for existing and new large load sites.
- Evaluate power transmission infrastructure requirements and risks, including delivering power from the grid or via on-site / near-site generation or renewables.
- Manage the full interconnection lifecycle, including queue strategy, studies, network upgrades, cost allocation, and milestone tracking.
- Lead negotiation and execution of interconnection-related agreements (e.g., feasibility/impact/facilities study agreements, interconnection agreements, construction coordination, cost allocation and security postings)
- Partner effectively with internal teams to define, articulate and execute the interconnection proposition to large load customers.
- Interface with utilities, transmission owners, ISOs/RTOs, consultants, and regulators to advance projects efficiently
- Develop internal standards, playbooks, and processes to scale interconnection execution as the platform grows
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in power system engineering, interconnection, grid integration, or transmission planning
- Prior experience at one or more of:
- - Independent Power Producers or power developers
- - Utilities or transmission owners
- - ISO/RTOs
- - A data center developer
- - Power system advisory or engineering consultancies (e.g., DNV, Black & Veatch)
- Experience supporting large-load interconnections (data centers, industrials, electrification loads)
- Strong understanding of FERC transmission tariffs, transmission planning, interconnection processes, queue reform, and grid reliability constraints
- Engineering background strongly preferred (electrical or mechanical)
