About the role
- 100% remote Microsoft Purview Engineer supporting a DoD mission on the DEOS contract
- Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Purview solutions to ensure data governance, security, and compliance
- Function as the primary Purview subject matter expert providing strategic guidance and technical leadership across Data Governance, Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, and Insider Risk Management
- Develop and implement data classification, retention, and labeling policies in accordance with DoD records management guidance
- Integrate Purview with other systems, monitor and optimize policies, generate compliance reports, and recommend enhancements
- Collaborate with data architects, security teams, and stakeholders; provide leadership, mentorship, and training to IT staff and end-users
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical challenges related to Purview and its integrations
Requirements
- Security clearance level: Secret
- Certification: Current 8570 IAT II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE)
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field OR equivalent experience
- Experience: 8+ years of related experience
- US Citizenship required
- Must reside in the CONUS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Purview services and Microsoft 365 Security and compliance centers
- Understanding of data security frameworks and compliance regulations
- Development and enforcement of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policies and Sensitive Information Types
- Retention Labels and Retention Policies including eDiscovery, disposition, and retention schedules for structured and unstructured data and metadata
- eDiscovery and Compliance Boundaries
- Information Protection Sensitivity Labels
- Experience with Azure services
