Responsible for comprehensive oversight, strategy, planning, development and implementation for all pharmacy services for assigned areas.
Provides operational and clinical oversight and accountability for all assigned pharmacy areas and services, including human resources, budgeting, and ongoing growth and development.
Serves as department liaison and program steward across the organization and with strategic partners including pharmaceutical industry partners, legislative groups, other health systems, and professional pharmacy organizations.
Oversee the development, revision, and auditing of pharmacy and related policies and operational procedures, compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation, and other standards of practice.
Leads and chairs system-level initiatives and workstreams and develops, communicates, and participates in research to enhance pharmacists' role.
Provides direction and guidance for development and implementation of clinical and operational pharmacy practice, medication therapy disease management, medication management processes and prescription capture.
Provides input and oversight for continuous performance improvement and quality initiatives and works with other departments regarding medication management.
Serves in oversight capacity for strategic, tactical, and business plans (budgets, facilities and capital analyses, growth plans, operational contingency plans).
Responsible for financial performance and planning in collaboration with the VP and utilizes financial/benchmarking reports to monitor revenue and expenses.
Provides oversight and guidance for credentialing and continuing professional development of staff; recruits, retains, and facilitates development of high performing staff.
Responsible for ensuring development and implementation of operational contingency and disaster plans and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Master's Degree- (Required)
Minimum of 5 years-Managerial/Supervisory (Required)
Minimum of 10 years-Related work experience (Required)
Licensed Pharmacist (Pennsylvania) - State of Pennsylvania
Experience with human resources, budgeting, and operational and clinical oversight
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation, and standards of practice
Experience with strategic planning, performance improvement, and quality initiatives
Experience in medication therapy disease management, medication management processes and prescription capture
Ability to lead system-level initiatives, collaborate with health plans and external partners, and participate in research
