About the role
- Act as the single point of contact to the customer and maintain on-going customer relationships
- Responsible for customer portfolio P&L and growth and smaller customer portfolio allowing support for opportunity cost development and project pre-planning and mobilization
- Responsible for outage scope planning and execution, including closeout oversight and event parts and repairs planning
- Interface with internal stakeholders such as engineering, finance, sourcing, affiliates, parts, and repairs
- Establish work scope, pricing, and driving emergent work for major repair projects
- Oversee transactional (TX), Extra Work, and Job Cost Estimator (JCE) proposals using Outage Assistant software
- Negotiate concessions balancing customer satisfaction with acceptable financial impact to GE
- Drive fulfillment excellence: EHS, Quality, Schedule, Productivity and Cost at customer sites
- Coordinate with Inventory Management Leaders, Repair Managers, Parts Fulfillment Leaders, and engineering to enhance outage planning process
- Drive and advocate for outage Daily Management
- Support maintenance of accurate and current project and opportunity information in NEX
- Develop long term strategic plans by customer to drive penetration and growth
- Continuously monitor and drive development of opportunity pipeline for regional opportunities
- Drive Orders, Sales, Cash and Contribution Margin (CM) growth
- Provide leadership through formulation and execution of proposal strategies and interface with Product Management, Commercial Operations, Customer Fulfillment Manager, Parts Fulfillment Leaders, Project Managers and other functional groups
- Lead deal strategy development on complex, multi-offering transactions including Parts, Repairs, Outage Services, Performance Upgrades and long-term Service Agreements
- Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer strategy, outage schedules and competitor actions
- Provide demand forecasting and pacing support to Sales Operations / Finance
- Travel up to 50%
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Power Generation Industry
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer facing role in power generation industry or similar industry
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with, and knowledge of GE Steam Turbines and Generator technology products and services
- Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time
- Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and influence in a matrix environment
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated value selling skills
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
- Business acumen / analytic ability
- Strong technical background
- Broad understanding of the commercial cycle – including product line/marketing/sales/commercial operations/engineering
- Customer service and “solution” mindset
- Knowledge of Steam Turbine and Generator design, operations and maintenance
- Experience planning and executing outages
- Familiarity with Contracts and Service Agreements
- Strong leadership, financial, and commercial skills
