• Picking and pulling orders using RF scanners and forklifts
• Restocking materials and assisting with general inventory duties
• Review tickets flagged for potential issues and address issues identified
• Pick and pull material listed on tickets, ensuring batch numbers match
• Use RF scan guns to accurately scan and relocate material
• Log inventory and relocate materials to correct department

Warehouse Associate, Picking

• Seacoast, a GCG Company, is currently hiring a Warehouse Associate to join our big cuts team in Chesapeake, VA! In this role, you will be responsible for operating spooling machines, doing inventory control, and assisting with general warehouse duties as needed . If you are looking for a full time , direct-hire position to get your foot in the door and gain hands on experience with an industry leader in wire, cable, and industrial automation, then we may be the right fit for you! Hours: 7AM to 4PM Mon-Fri with an hour for lunch

• What You'll Do
• Daily set-up and operation of spooling machine to wind, spool, and package materials
• Pick up and pull large cables onto machines
• Run test spool daily to ensure accurate measurements and specifications
• Perform pre-operational checks to ensure proper functioning of equipment
• Measure cable before returning to stock to ensure inventory accuracy
• Assist with general inventory control duties
• Perform additional duties as needed

• What you'll do: Strategic Purchasing & Supplier Management — Develop and implement purchasing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and service levels. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers; drive delivery of updated product data; address discrepancies. Manage obligations under supplier agreements. Closely coordinate with our sales leaders to understand large upcoming project purchases that require additional project management. Ensure competitive sourcing for non-strategic suppliers to mitigate risk and capture cost savings. Understand and optimize our supplier pricing catalogues.
• Leadership & Team Management — Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8 across direct purchasing, stock purchasing, purchase management, invoice processing, and purchasing operations. Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and coach team members to achieve professional growth. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-team collaboration.
• Operational Excellence & Process Improvement — Institute best-in-class supply chain management processes tailored to distribution operations. Drive automation of purchasing workflows and measure efficiency gains. Collaborate with corporate supply chain, supplier relations, inventory/warehouse, customer service, order management, and information technology to ensure smooth operations. Standardize and document purchasing procedures to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Analytics & Performance Measurement — Collaborating with key stakeholders, develop and maintain robust KPIs to measure purchasing effectiveness, supplier performance, and department health. Produce regular reports for leadership on purchasing trends, cost savings, supplier scorecards, and process efficiency. Analyze purchasing data to identify cost reduction opportunities, supplier risks, and improvement areas. Develop supplier score cards to review with suppliers on a regular basis to drive continuous improvement of the supply chain.
• ERP & Systems Management — Leverage ERP systems (manufacturing or distribution) to optimize purchasing, inventory visibility, and supplier communications. Maintain data accuracy in purchasing records, supplier information, and order tracking. Partner with IT and operations to enhance ERP capabilities for purchasing functions.
