Serve as a trusted advisor to CPO clients from Global 1000 organizations and government agencies
Manage a portfolio of senior executive client relationships and participate in account planning with Account Executives
Engage clients across the lifecycle: pre-sale, on-boarding, relationship management, delivery, review, and renewal
Define, develop, coach and critique procurement strategies and help clients develop/transform their organizations
Support Sales in prospect cultivation, account plan development and value demonstration to contribute to client retention and growth
Leverage Gartner research and work with analysts to develop and deliver CPO-relevant research and insights
Define and deliver customized value plans, deliver research, peer networking, and coaching to advance procurement maturity
Direct and facilitate client peer group calls, meetings, roundtables, and Gartner Exec Series Webinars
Participate in presentations and relevant research communities; facilitate client collaboration through portals and connections
Retain clients according to Gartner retention metrics and work with Sales to vet and close new CPO business
Requirements
University graduate (Masters preferred)
10+ years’ experience working in a senior management role as a CPO (typically SVP or EVP) OR 5+ years as a CPO plus 5+ years in another Procurement Executive role
Current or former CPO with experience managing significant P&L, direct reports, and significant total number of associates
Demonstrated subject matter expertise in developing and delivering Procurement strategy, execution, and performance improvement
In-depth understanding of the Procurement industry and the role of the CPO (leadership, operations management, strategy and trends, use of metrics)
In-depth understanding of the business value of Procurement and alignment of Business and Procurement strategies
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess client situations and provide actionable, outcome-based business advice
Ability to lead and manage ambiguous situations
Superior verbal and written communication skills and strong facilitation and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills, high EQ, reflective listening, and ability to work with C-level executives
Energetic and sales savvy with sales and/or business development experience or ability with CXO level executives
Collaboration and team leadership skills
