About the role

  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day survey operations within the Colorado Springs office
  • Lead and manage teams of office and field survey staff; hiring, coaching, mentoring, delegating
  • Communicate with clients and take part in business development and proposals
  • Create or analyze property boundaries for sites, lots, subdivisions, roads, pipelines, rights-of-way, and easements
  • Review and evaluate survey field notes and oversee processing of 3-dimensional field data
  • Prepare and oversee survey documents and computations for boundary, ALTA, topographic surveys, etc.
  • Oversee survey drawings and descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software
  • Prepare and oversee construction surveying and layout services, including construction staking, plan interpretation, calculations (points, alignments, DXFs), and as-builts
  • Ensure compliance with local jurisdiction requirements and Galloway SOP/standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in surveying technology, or equivalent experience
  • PLS required
  • Typically, 10+ years of survey management / leadership experience required
  • Proficient in land surveying principles and practices
  • Previous experience managing teams of office and field staff
  • Knowledgeable of current survey technology and equipment
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other survey-related programs
  • Proficient in reading plans, boundary analysis, topographic and ALTA Surveys
  • Work efficiently within project schedules and budgets
  • Well versed in BD, Marketing and Proposal writing
  • Able to travel for short periods of time
  • Maintains a current driver’s license in good standing
  • Active role in hiring, coaching, mentoring, and delegating responsibility to less-senior level staff
  • Provide daily on-the-job training for team members
  • Communicate with clients regarding survey services
