About the role
- Typical responsibilities include: Design various site development projects including commercial, institutional, and residential plans from concept through construction including the following: site planning, site grading, site balancing, storm water design, horizontal and vertical design of underground utilities, obtain jurisdictional approvals/permits, and prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards. Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities; Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks; Monitor task budget and progress; Conduct on-site observations as needed; Maintain multiple project assignments; Verify field survey notes; Prepare project status and other reports; Assist Project Managers; Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.; Attend seminars and/or training classes; Maintain excellent client relations; Maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering and zero to three years of experience. Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation In Roads is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication/coordination skills are essential.
