About the role
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate structural engineering work for projects.
- Oversee the design and ongoing progress of projects, coordinating with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies.
- Resolve complex problems such as conflicting design requirements and material suitability issues.
- Coordinate technical and administrative activities with other disciplines and departments within the firm.
- Take an active role in new business development and market Galloway’s capabilities to establish and grow client relationships.
- Provide supervision and guidance on objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters; consult with senior management as needed.
- Prepare and review project proposals, qualification statements, promotional materials, and professional services agreements; manage approvals and amendments.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct project teams during execution; coach, mentor, and delegate to less-senior staff.
- Serve as primary contact with clients and foster effective internal and external communication between clients and team members.
- Utilize Autodesk Revit Structure, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D, RAM Structural System) and BIM processes in project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
- Utah SE License required.
- Typically, 10 or more years of experience in Structural Engineering (minimum 120 months).
- Experience in private commercial development projects is highly preferred.
- Experience in Multifamily projects is preferred.
- Possesses a general knowledge of the principles and practices of structural/civil engineering and architecture.
- Strong ability in Autodesk Revit Structure and AutoCAD.
- Experience with structural design software including frame analysis software (RISA 3D, RAM Structural System, etc.).
- Possesses an understanding of concepts and processes associated with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience providing supervision, coaching, and mentoring to less-senior staff and directing project teams.
- Experience in business development, preparing proposals, qualification statements, and professional services agreements.
