About the role
- Our Marketing Team: Accountancy practices and bookkeepers (known as practices) are a key audience for FreeAgent. The Practice Marketing team plays a central role in designing customer journeys, and delivering campaigns and events that acquire new practices as partners, supports them in onboarding their clients to FreeAgent and encourages them to add more in the future.
- Background: Due to the continued ambitions for Practice growth, the countdown to MTD for Income Tax in April 2026 and the successful partner webinar programme, support is needed to help deliver on these key areas as part of our Practices strategy. During 2025, we have continued to deliver YoY growth across our Tier 2 & 3 partners in revenue and licence adds. MTD for Income Tax, Integrations and webinar activity has played a significant part in this and the Marketing Executive role plays a key part in the delivery of these areas.
- We’re now under six months until sole traders and landlords with an income of over £50k will be required to comply with MTD for Income Tax. There continues to be a huge opportunity for us to help practices educate themselves and digitalise their small business clients, ready for MTD in April 2026.
- The role: This is a great opportunity for someone to play a key role in supporting our growth strategy for existing practice partners, as well as getting involved in activity across our go to market plans for new product enhancements, integrations and MTD for Income Tax.
- There will be a focus on driving multichannel communications and a customer experience that increases and maintains engagement with our practices, developing knowledgeable and motivated partners.
- The role ensures our sales, marketing, support and product teams work together effectively to deliver a true customer centric experience for all our existing partners, and will help drive awareness of our proposition with our existing practice partners, increasing their propensity to add clients, amplify revenue and accelerate partner programme tier progression.
- In addition to the growth of our partners, this role will also support activity across the entire Practices audience. This will primarily be in the following areas:
1) Supporting Senior Marketing Manager on marketing preparations for the launch of MTD for Income Tax across all audiences. This includes the ownership of paid social activity across our key platforms.
2) Implementation of our practice integrations marketing activity, working closely with the Practice Growth and Practice Engagement teams to develop impactful go-to-market plans and deliver greater FreeAgent visibility with our partners audience.
3) Ownership and management of the Practice webinar programme through ON24. This includes both live webinars and also the management of recently introduced On Demand webinars.
4) Supporting and executing go-to-market plans for our roadmap of practice specific product updates.
- Day to day your role will involve/you'll be helping customers by To support the team on MTD for Income Tax marketing activity. To manage our practice integrations relationships and communications, annual practice webinar programme, sales co-branded collateral requests and product updates communications. To enhance the customer experience for all existing practice partners who signed up with FreeAgent.
Requirements
- Experience building and developing communication plans to increase customer engagement and strengthen relationships, ideally in a SaaS environment.
- Experience of managing online events and webinars. Knowledge of paid social activity, ideally through LinkedIn and Meta.
- Have good knowledge and experience of B2B marketing strategy and principles
- Understanding of designing and implementing multi-channel customer conversion & retention campaigns.
- Demonstrable ability to create programmes of activity and then deliver on those plans.
- Excellent analytical skills, comfortable with data analysis and understanding of multi-touch attribution models.
- Track record of testing and optimising marketing activity and strategies.
- Able to track and understand campaign analytics to derive insights.
- Able to process new or emerging concepts and information outside your domain, alongside leading a multi-disciplinary group.
- Experience working with CRM systems to manage and report on campaigns, ideally Salesforce.
- Degree qualified, or with a professional qualification in marketing, or demonstrable experience.
- An understanding of brand and how it can be flexed for different audiences.
- Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills, with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to organise and provide direction on workload.
- Numerate and analytical; able to work with data sets to analyse activity and deliver actionable insights from analysis.
- Confidence working to targets and delivering work to deadlines, good time management.
- Excellent interpersonal / communications skills including very effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Naturally inquisitive, a good listener and a problem solver who wants to understand issues and develop strategies to improve.
- Has sufficient self-awareness to identify personal strengths and areas for development; reviews and reflects on personal behaviour and is able to make adjustments accordingly.
